IHC allows Salman Akram Raja to meet PTI founder

ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday directed the authorities to ensure meeting of lawyer Salman Akram Raja with PTI founder in jail.
The court ordered the Deputy Attorney General and State Council to inform the jail authorities through phone call about the meeting.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition of Ghulam Murtaza, a cabinet member of the IHC Bar Association, to ban the PTI founder from sharing anti-state content on his X-account.
The lawyer of PTI founder, Salman Akram Raja, and Aleema Khan were also present before the court.
During the hearing, the jail authorities submitted their report to the court while the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency sought time to submit its response.
Salman Akram Raja stated that despite the court order, he was not being allowed to meet the PTI founder. He added that, given that today was the designated day for the meeting, he required instructions regarding the case.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir directed the jail authorities to ensure that Salman Akram Raja meets the PTI founder today. Salman Akram Raja had earlier stated that the meeting was not allowed despite a previous court order.
The court ordered the Deputy Attorney General and State Council to inform the jail authorities about the meeting through a phone call. The court allowed the lawyer to meet the PTI founder and adjourned the hearing.
