ISLAMABAD, Nov 07 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday accepted the miscellaneous application of Engineer Mirza Muhammad Ali seeking to become a party in the main case against the opinion of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) in blasphemy matter.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case against the opinion of CII in which it declared Engineer Mirza Muhammad Ali as guilty.
During the hearing of the application, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Ayubi, advocate, appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner. The court was told that this is only a miscellaneous application through which a request has been made to become a party in the main case, all the documents are already attached.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani inquired that you have only filed a simple application, no material has been attached with it. On this, the applicant’s lawyer took the position that all the documents of the main case have already been submitted, we only want permission to become a party. After hearing the arguments, the court accepted the miscellaneous application of Engineer Mirza Muhammad Ali and allowed him to become a party in the case.
This case has been filed by Dr. Aslam Khaki against the opinion of the Council of Islamic Ideology in which the position was taken to declare Engineer Mirza Muhammad Ali guilty of blasphemy. The court adjourned further hearing until November 12.
