ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP):Inspector General of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry  met Chairman Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (ADRC) Tayyab Nawaz Malik and stressed that reconciliation committees should play an active role at every police station to help resolve citizens’ issues.
An official told APP on Thursday that the meeting discussed the role of ADRCs in resolving public disputes through dialogue, mutual understanding and reconciliation.
The IGP Sohail said the basic purpose of police and reconciliation committees was to resolve citizens’ problems and contribute to the betterment of society.
He stressed that ADRCs at police stations should remain active and help citizens settle suitable disputes through mutual understanding in accordance with law.
Sohail  said effective coordination between police and reconciliation committees could provide citizens with an easy platform for resolving their disputes and help improve public service.
He also stressed the need to make the reconciliation system more effective so that citizens could receive timely relief in their genuine matters.
