IGP Rizvi reviews police drills, holds meetings on law, order in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Tuesday reviewed ongoing police drills at the Police Lines Headquarters and later held meetings with senior officers to assess law and order, crime control and operational preparedness in the federal capital.
An official told APP that the IGP Rizvi inspected the exercises where police contingents presented a disciplined march-past, demonstrating coordination, fitness and professional skills. DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, AIG Logistics Abdul Haq Umrani and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

During the inspection, the IGP Rizvi appreciated the discipline, coordination and professionalism of the police personnel and said that such drills help strengthen teamwork, physical fitness and operational readiness within the force. He also issued necessary directions to further improve performance.

 The IGP Rizvi later chaired a series of meetings with senior officers, including DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza and SSP CTD Muhammad Arsalan Shahzaib, to review the overall law and order situation in Islamabad.
During the meetings, the IGP Rizvi discussed crime prevention through patrolling, search and targeted operations, besides measures against narcotics and illegal weapons. He directed officers to take effective action against criminal elements and ensure the safety and security of citizens.

The IGP Rizvi also reviewed counter-terrorism measures and intelligence-based operations, directing the Counter Terrorism Department to further strengthen intelligence gathering and make full use of modern technology to prevent any untoward incident.
He emphasized improving response time, enhancing field operations and ensuring better public facilitation, saying that public service and protection of lives and property remain the top priority of Islamabad Police
