ISLAMABAD, Jun 20 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi visited an Imambargah in Sector G-6 and personally reviewed security and traffic arrangements put in place for Muharram-ul-Haram.
An official told APP on Saturday that SSP Operations, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Kainat Azhar Khan and other senior police officers accompanied the IGP during the visit.
Rizvi inspected security deployments and assessed measures adopted to ensure the safety of mourners and maintain law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
The IGP Rizvi reviewed access control, security monitoring and overall preparedness at the Imambargah and surrounding areas.
He also examined traffic management arrangements and issued necessary directions to officers for ensuring smooth traffic flow and facilitating mourners attending religious gatherings.
IGP Rizvi emphasized maintaining a high level of vigilance and directed officers to ensure strict implementation of security plans and standard operating procedures.
Rizvi reiterated Islamabad Police’s commitment to providing a peaceful and secure environment during Muharram-ul-Haram and directed all officers to remain alert and perform their duties with dedication and professionalism, the official added.
