ISLAMABAD, Jun 26 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Friday remained in the field to personally review security and traffic arrangements for Youm-e-Ashur, visiting various Imambargahs and procession routes across the federal capital.
An official told APP that the IGP inspected procession routes, security deployments, traffic management arrangements and duty points, and issued necessary directions to senior officers to ensure foolproof security throughout the day.
Rizvi directed officers to ensure comprehensive security arrangements for all Muharram processions and Majalis and to strictly implement the approved security plan.
The IGP Rizvi emphasized that standard operating procedures (SOPs) must be followed in letter and spirit and warned that negligence in duty would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Rizvi appreciated the commitment of Islamabad Police personnel, saying officers and jawans were performing their duties with dedication and professionalism despite the intense weather conditions.
I am proud of every officer and jawan who is serving in the field with commitment and devotion throughout Muharram-ul-Haram, the IGP said.
The official said Islamabad Police was utilizing all available resources to maintain law and order, safeguard mourners and ensure peaceful observance of Youm-e-Ashur across the federal capital.
