ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a high-level meeting to review security arrangements, traffic management and emergency preparedness for Muharram-ul-Haram across the federal capital.
An official told APP on Monday that the meeting was attended by DIG Headquarters, DIG Islamabad, DIG Security and other senior police officers, who reviewed operational plans and security measures for the holy month.
The official said the participants discussed a comprehensive strategy aimed at ensuring peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram and providing a secure environment for mourners and citizens.
The IGP directed officers to further strengthen security arrangements through the use of modern technology, effective coordination and timely response mechanisms.
He emphasized the importance of close coordination among all operational and support units to ensure the smooth implementation of security plans and uninterrupted public services.
The meeting also reviewed traffic management plans, emergency response protocols and public facilitation measures to minimize inconvenience to citizens during processions and religious gatherings.
 Rizvi directed officers to remain vigilant, enhance field monitoring and utilize all available resources to maintain law and order throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.
The IGP reiterated Islamabad Police’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens and ensuring a safe, peaceful and facilitation-oriented environment across the federal capital, the official added.
