IESCO notifies power suspension programme

ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 (APP):The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced scheduled power suspensions in various areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and adjoining localities on Tuesday (August 4) due to system maintenance and development work.

According to an IESCO spokesperson, electricity supply will remain suspended in different areas during specified hours to facilitate maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.

In the Islamabad Circle, power supply will remain suspended from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the Navy-1 feeder, while the Gharial feeder will remain without electricity from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

In the Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, consumers connected to the Sowan Garden-I and Sowan Garden-II feeders will face power outages from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

In the Attock Circle, electricity supply to areas served by the Bahlot feeder will remain suspended from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Similarly, in the Chakwal Circle, power supply to the Jamal Wal, Mengan, Karyala and KSM Unit-3 feeders will remain suspended from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Meanwhile, under the GSO Circle, maintenance work on the 132kV GSS Rawat-II Power Transformer T-2 will be carried out from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, work on the 132kV AWC HMC Taxila and 132kV Sangjani-Burhan transmission lines will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., while maintenance on the 132kV Kahuta City-Palandri and 132kV New Wah-Bahtermore lines, along with related earth switches, will be undertaken from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Power supply to the surrounding areas may also remain affected during these periods.

IESCO regretted the inconvenience caused to consumers and said electricity supply would be restored immediately after the completion of maintenance work. The utility added that if the work is completed ahead of schedule, power supply may be resumed earlier than the announced timings.
