ISLAMABAD, Jul 11 (APP):Chief Executive Officer of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Muhammad Naeem Jan on Friday said under the ongoing reforms initiative ‘Apna Meter Apni Reading’ – Power Smart Application has been launched which will help consumers to become directly involved in the electricity billing process.
He said that the government and the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) are continuously working to resolve consumers’ issues in a timely manner and provide affordable electricity to the consumers.
“Using this smart application, consumers will be able to take their own meter readings every month on the designated date and send them to IESCO which will help timely, accurate, error-free, and transparent meter reading,” he said in a statement issued here.
The objective of this initiative is to eliminate incorrect and delayed readings caused by meter readers and to empower consumers in the billing process using modern technology, enabling them to closely monitor their electricity usage and the accuracy of their bills.
Muhammad Naeem Jan said that under the directions of the government and the Ministry of Energy, all IESCO offices have been provided with the necessary tools and instructions. Additionally, IESCO has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign about the usage and benefits of this smart application so that every consumer can benefit from this consumer-friendly initiative of the government.
He said this will not only increase public trust in the institution but also ensure greater transparency in the billing process.
IESCO has always been committed to promoting consumer-friendly policies, and this campaign is another step in that direction.
