ICT Police safely recover kidnapped boy; arrest prime suspect

ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have safely recovered a 14-year-old boy from Peshawar who was kidnapped for ransom, arresting the prime suspect in a swift, technology-driven operation that prevented payment of the demanded amount.
An official told APP on Saturday that the minor, identified as Haris Ali, was abducted from the limits of Bhara Kahu Police Station, while the kidnappers had demanded Rs 2 million for his release.

He said the case was registered on the complaint of the boy’s father, Rifat Hussain, who promptly approached the police. Taking immediate notice of the incident, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza constituted a special investigation team under the supervision of ASP Muhammad Inzimam Khan to trace and recover the child.

The official said the police team utilized modern technology, Safe City cameras and human intelligence, successfully tracking the kidnappers and recovering the abducted boy safely from Peshawar without payment of any ransom. During the operation, the prime suspect, Bilal Ahmed, was arrested.
He added that search operations are under way to arrest the remaining accomplices involved in the crime, while legal proceedings against the arrested suspect are being completed to ensure exemplary punishment.
SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza said Islamabad Police had resolved dozens of sensitive and challenging cases over the past year with professionalism and determination, adding that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remained the force’s top priority.
The boy’s father, Rifat Hussain, expressed gratitude to Islamabad Police, particularly SHO Bhara Kahu Chaudhry Akhtar Zaman and his team, for their timely and effective action that ensured the safe recovery of his son from Peshawar.
