ISLAMABAD, Mar 25 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested a previously involved motorcycle thief and recovered stolen motorcycles and a weapon during a major operation in the jurisdiction of Shams Colony Police Station.
An official told APP on Wednesday that Shams Colony police team conducted a successful operation and arrested a suspect involved in motorcycle theft.
He said the accused, identified as Ijaz Baig, was a habitual offender and was wanted in multiple cases of motorcycle theft.
He said the police recovered three stolen motorcycles worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from his possession, which were stolen from areas within the jurisdiction of Shams Colony Police Station.
He added that a 30 bore pistol along with ammunition, used in criminal activities, was also recovered from the accused.
The official said Islamabad Police has intensified its crackdown against criminal elements to ensure law and order in the federal capital.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq said that effective action against criminals would continue and no one would be allowed to disturb public peace.
