Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police paid rich tribute to its fallen heroes at a ceremony held at Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad to mark Police Martyrs’ Day, honouring officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty for the protection of the country and its people.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police paid rich tribute to its fallen heroes at a ceremony held at Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad to mark Police Martyrs’ Day, honouring officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty for the protection of the country and its people.

An ICT Police spokesperson told APP on Wednesday that DG Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while senior Islamabad Police officers, families and children of police martyrs and a large number of police personnel were also present.

The ceremony highlighted the courage, services and sacrifices of the fallen police personnel and their unwavering commitment to the country and the nation.

Special tribute was also paid to the families and children of the martyrs for their patience, courage and sacrifices, acknowledging their strength in carrying forward the legacy of their loved ones.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Haroon Joiya said Islamabad Police would always remember its martyrs with the highest respect and honour, adding that the dignity, welfare and all possible support of their families remained a foremost responsibility of the force.
He said Islamabad Police martyrs had set unforgettable examples of courage, bravery and devotion to duty by sacrificing their lives in the line of duty.
Their immortal sacrifices are a source of pride for the nation and will continue to inspire future generations with a message of courage, determination and service to the country, he added.
Joiya reaffirmed that Islamabad Police would continue standing by the families of its martyrs and ensure their welfare and support as recognition of the supreme sacrifices rendered by their loved ones.
