ISLAMABAD, Jun 13 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Friday carried out a grand search and combing operation in various areas of the Shams Colony police station, falling under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Area Zone.
An official told APP that the operation was conducted under the supervision of SP Industrial Area Zone. A heavy police contingent, including lady constables, participated in the search operation. Prior to the operation, the personnel were briefed about the operational plan.
He said that during the operation, 150 individuals were questioned and 100 houses, inns, hotels, and motels were searched.
He said that seven motorcycles were also checked during the operation.
He said that 17 suspects and three motorcycles were shifted to the police station for further investigation.
He said that the purpose of the grand search and combing operation was to curb crime in the area.
He said that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad had issued special directives to launch grand search operations across the district to eradicate crime, urging the public to cooperate with police during checking.
