ICT Police hold meetings with religious leaders to finalize Muharram security plan

ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP): Superintendents of Police (SPs) have held meetings with Imambargah organizers and peace committee members to ensure security, promote religious harmony, and maintain law and order during the holy month of Muharram.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the meetings aimed to reinforce coordination with local religious leaders and community stakeholders to ensure comprehensive security arrangements for Imambargahs, mourning processions, and Majalis. The Zonal SPs briefed their respective teams and emphasized proactive policing and strong community engagement during the sacred period.
Zonal SPs said that no negligence or lapse in security arrangements would be tolerated, and all officers have been directed to maintain close coordination with Imambargah administrators and ensure implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Muharram processions.
They said that special instructions were issued to ensure proper lighting during Majalis and to maintain strict adherence to scheduled timings for religious gatherings.
They said that all police officers must perform their duties with integrity and patriotism to uphold peace in the federal capital during Muharram.
SPs said that the safety of citizens’ lives and property remains the foremost priority of Islamabad Police, and any negligence in duty will result in strict action.
