ISLAMABAD, Jul 02 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police detained three suspects and shifted 13 motorcycles for further verification during large-scale combing and search operations carried out in different parts of the federal capital under enhanced security measures.
An official told APP on Thursday that the operations were conducted on the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and carried out under the supervision of zonal SPs in the jurisdictions of Lohi Bher, Tarnol, Shalimar, Shams Colony, Shahzad Town and Margalla police stations.
The official said lady police personnel also participated in the search operations to ensure comprehensive checking.
During the operations, police checked 432 individuals, 171 households, 22 hotels and 16 shops, besides inspecting 166 motorcycles and 73 vehicles, the official said.
According to the official, three suspicious persons and 13 motorcycles were shifted to the respective police stations for further verification and legal action, where required.
The official said special checking points had been established at the entry and exit points of the city, while all patrolling units and special squads continued patrolling across Islamabad to strengthen security.
Citizens were urged to cooperate with police during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or the Pucar-15 emergency helpline.
