ISLAMABAD, Nov 09 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police carried out a grand search and combing operation in the Tarnol police jurisdiction as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety and security of citizens in the federal capital.
An official told APP on Sunday that the operation was conducted under the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, in line with the department’s commitment to maintain law and order through regular targeted operations across various parts of Islamabad.
Before the commencement of the operation, senior police officers briefed the participating personnel about operational strategy, objectives, and safety measures. Lady police officers also took part to ensure thorough checking of residential areas.
During the operation, police teams checked 65 individuals, 60 houses, 14 shops, 22 vehicles, and 30 motorcycles, while eight suspicious persons were shifted to the police station for further legal proceedings.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq emphasized that the main objective of these operations is to tighten the security cordon around criminal elements and enhance the overall security framework of the city.
He said Islamabad Police will continue indiscriminate actions against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers, ensuring no safe haven for lawbreakers.
