ISLAMABAD, Jan 04 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory Police carried out search and combing operations in various areas of the federal capital under the supervision of zonal superintendents of police to curb crime and ensure public safety.
A public relations officer told APP on Sunday that lady police personnel also took part in the operations, while officers briefed the deployed force in detail before launching the drive.
During the search operations, police teams checked 277 individuals, 200 houses, and 30 shops in different localities. In addition, 116 motorcycles and 39 vehicles were inspected during checking.
The officer said that, for verification and further inquiry, 23 suspicious persons, 27 motorcycles and four vehicles were shifted to police stations.
He said the purpose of the search operations was to prevent crime, enhance security and maintain law and order in the area.
According to the officer, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has directed police to continue grand search operations across the district to eliminate criminal elements.
Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity.
