ISLAMABAD, Jan 28 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have conducted search and combing operations in multiple areas of the federal capital, checking 217 individuals as part of intensified efforts to curb crime and suppress criminal elements.
A police spokesperson told APP on Wednesday that under the supervision of zonal superintendents of police (SPs), grand search and combing operations were carried out in different parts of Islamabad.
During the operations, police teams also checked 96 houses, 14 shops, 53 motorcycles and 26 vehicles, while 17 suspicious persons and seven motorcycles were shifted to the respective police stations for further verification.
SSP Qazi Islamabad said the purpose of these operations was to tighten the noose around criminal elements and further enhance security across the city.
He added that such search and combing operations are being conducted regularly in various areas of the district, and Islamabad Police will continue indiscriminate action against criminal elements, land-grabbing mafias and drug peddlers.
