ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police carried out large-scale search and combing operations in multiple areas of the federal capital, shifting 74 suspected individuals, including four Afghan nationals, as part of ongoing efforts against criminal elements and illegal residents
An official told APP on Wednesday that the operations were conducted in the jurisdictions of Tarnol, Secretariat, Koral, Noon, Shahzad Town, Kirpa, and Sumbal police stations under the supervision of zonal SPs. Lady police officials also participated in the operations.
He said that during the search activities, police teams checked 1,176 individuals and 397 households to ensure effective monitoring and verification.
The official said that police also inspected 91 shops and six hotels, while 138 motorcycles and 71 vehicles were examined.
He said that 74 suspected individuals, including four Afghan nationals, along with 13 motorcycles, were shifted to the relevant police stations for further verification and legal proceedings.
During the operations, police teams recovered illegal weapons and ammunition, including one 222-bore gun, two Kalashnikov rifles, and two pistols of different bores with ammunition.
The official said the search operations were aimed at preventing crime, tightening the net around criminal elements, and strengthening security across the city.
