ISLAMABAD, Jan 02 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police carried out grand search and combing operations in various areas of the federal capital as part of efforts to curb crime and ensure public safety.
A police spokesperson told APP on Friday that the operations were conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs, with the participation of male and female police officers. Before the operations, police personnel were given a detailed briefing regarding their duties and standard operating procedures.

During the operations, police teams checked 347 individuals, 185 houses and 38 shops. In addition, 155 motorcycles and 30 vehicles were also inspected.
The spokesperson said that 22 suspicious persons were shifted to police stations for further verification, while 22 motorcycles were also taken into custody during the checking process.

He said the purpose of the search and combing operations was to prevent crime, maintain law and order and create a sense of security among citizens.
The spokesperson added that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad had issued clear directives to conduct grand search operations across the district to eliminate criminal elements and strengthen security.
Police have urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies during checking and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police, reiterating that the protection of life and property of citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
