ISLAMABAD, Mar 24 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have intensified their crackdown against criminal elements, putting three members of an organized robbery gang in handcuffs during an operation in the federal capital.
An official told APP on Tuesday that Humak Police Station conducted a successful action against a gang involved in multiple street crime incidents.
He said that the police recovered snatched mobile phones and cash worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from the possession of the arrested suspects.
The official added that weapons along with ammunition used in the crimes were also recovered from the accused.
He said the arrested suspects confessed to their involvement in multiple incidents of snatching cash, mobile phones and other valuables at gunpoint.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq directed officers to ensure that all legal requirements are fulfilled to bring the accused to justice.
He said that indiscriminate action against those depriving citizens of their valuables would continue, adding that Islamabad Police were taking strict measures to maintain law and order.
