ICT Police arrest 18 outlaws; seize drugs, illegal weapons

outlawsISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 18 criminals and recovered drugs, illegal weapons and liquor during a series of operations carried out across different areas of the federal capital.

A police spokesperson told APP on Wednesday that teams from Secretariat, Sumbal, Sihala, Shahzad Town and Karachi Company police stations arrested eight accused involved in various criminal activities.

During the operations, police recovered 1,612 grams of hashish, 105 grams of ice, 40 bottles of liquor, six pistols and one rifle along with ammunition from the possession of the arrested suspects. Separate cases have been registered against them and further investigations are underway.

The spokesperson added that, during a special campaign launched for the arrest of proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams also arrested seven more criminals, taking the total number of arrests to 18.

Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police continue their indiscriminate crackdown against crime and criminal elements to ensure peace and tranquility in the federal capital.

The spokesperson said Islamabad Police are fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and will not allow any element to disturb public peace.
