ICT admin sets up 6 cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Adzha

ISLAMABAD, May 12 (APP):The district administration has established 6 official cattle markets across the federal capital ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, while assistant commissioners have started inspections to review facilities, traffic arrangements and public services at the sites.
Officials visited different cattle markets to examine parking arrangements, availability of clean drinking water, sanitation measures and electricity supply for traders and visitors. The administration also reviewed traffic flow on roads linked to the markets to avoid congestion during the busy trading days before Eid.
According to the district administration, the six cattle markets have been set up at designated locations to facilitate the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in an organized manner. Authorities said the markets will provide facilities for both traders arriving from distant areas and citizens visiting to buy animals.
During the visits, assistant commissioners inspected arrangements for cleanliness, waste disposal and water supply. Officials also checked the condition of roads around the markets and reviewed plans prepared for traffic management. The administration said steps were being taken to ensure smooth movement of vehicles near the cattle markets.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad directed officials to ensure the provision of all basic facilities for traders coming from different cities. He said traders should not face difficulties regarding electricity, water, parking or sanitation during their stay at the markets.
The deputy commissioner said only officially approved cattle markets would be allowed to operate in Islamabad during Eid-ul-Azha. He warned that no permission would be given for the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals at unauthorized locations.
He further said assistant commissioners would be held responsible if temporary cattle markets were established along highways or in areas not approved by the administration. Authorities have been instructed to take action against illegal setups to maintain order and prevent traffic problems in the city.
Officials said special attention was also being given to hygiene conditions at the cattle markets to ensure a clean environment for visitors. Teams from different departments have been assigned duties to monitor sanitation work and other arrangements throughout the Eid season.
The district administration appealed to citizens to purchase sacrificial animals only from the six official cattle markets established by the government. Officials said buying animals from authorized markets would help ensure proper facilities, better management and smooth traffic arrangements.
The administration added that monitoring of the cattle markets would continue in the coming days, while field officers would remain present to address complaints and supervise arrangements during the Eid period.
