ISLAMABAD, Nov 24 (APP):The district administration of Islamabad has released weekly figures showing a steady rise in the number of vehicles receiving M-Tags.
Officials said that over the past seven days, a total of 18,757 vehicles were tagged across the federal capital. The latest 24-hour count shows another 3,511 installations completed at 10 designated points.
According to the administration, the M-Tag system is being adopted to manage vehicle flow and ensure smooth entry and exit at toll points. Authorities have urged residents to complete the process without delay, saying the next phase of the policy will restrict the movement of vehicles without M-Tags inside the capital.
To support the process, the administration has set up 12 facilitation points in different areas. These points are handling daily installations, helping residents complete the procedure quickly. Officials said more locations will be added soon to manage the increasing number of applicants and reduce waiting time.
The administration has repeated its call for public cooperation, stating that the M-Tag requirement will soon become mandatory for all vehicles entering or driving within the federal capital. Residents are encouraged to visit the nearest service point and get the tag installed as early as possible.
A spokesperson for the district administration said the initiative is aimed at improving traffic management and ensuring compliance with new movement regulations. The spokesperson added that teams at the M-Tag points have been directed to assist citizens and keep the process efficient.
Authorities emphasised that the campaign will continue in the coming days, with further expansion of service points planned across the city. The administration also appealed to citizens to support the effort by completing their registration at the earliest.
Residents have been told that proving responsible citizenship includes following the new tagging requirement. The administration noted that installing an M-Tag today will help avoid inconvenience in the future when non-tagged vehicles will not be allowed to operate within Islamabad limits.
