ISLAMABAD, Jun 21 (APP): Islamabad College for Girls (ICG), F-6/2 of Federal Directorate of Education has started two-week Summer Fiesta-2026 offering its students an opportunity to develop technological, creative, and vocational skills through a variety of summer courses and workshops.

According to the ICG, this will include the colourful festivities and events to give students a chance to enhance their creative skills through various summer courses and hands-on workshops.
On the occasion, Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Nadeem Mehboob said that this exciting initiative provides students with a valuable opportunity through a range of summer courses and practical workshops.
He said that the fiesta is designed to encourage learning beyond the classroom by combining education with fun and creativity, adding that through colourful activities, interactive sessions and hands-on experiences, students can explore new talents, build confidence and enhance their abilities. “We wish all participants a rewarding and enjoyable Summer Fiesta 2026,” he added.
DG FDE Javed Iqbal Mirza stated that education is the foundation of personal growth and national development. It empowers young people with knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills that help them face future challenges with confidence.
“Activities such as workshops and skill-based courses play an important role in nurturing creativity, innovation, teamwork and leadership qualities,” he recalled.
He also encouraged the students to discover their interests and prepare for the opportunities of a rapidly changing world. “Investing in education is investing in a brighter future. Initiatives like Summer Fiesta provide a positive learning environment where students can learn, grow and become responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to society and the progress of the country,” the DG said.
Senior officials of the education ministry, diplomats, educationists and parents participate in the ceremony.
The Summer Fiesta features courses in Coding and Robotics, Digital Creativity, Creative Arts, Coding with Scratch, Fashion Couture, Creative Embellishment, Design Lab, Communication Skills, Professional Culinary Arts Training, Pottery, Fabric Painting, Art and Design Workshop, and Taekwondo.
Students presented a vibrant medley of regional songs and an impressive Taekwondo demonstration. Guests also visited classrooms and activity stalls and appreciated the creativity, talent, and enthusiastic participation of the students.
