ISLAMABAD, Mar 10 (APP): The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) on Tuesday discussed a national strategy for reviving hockey through Pakistan’s educational institutions.
The steps were discussed in a meeting hosted by National Education–Hockey Coordination Committee here at the IBCC Secretariat, Islamabad.
The meeting was co-chaired by Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah and Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani.
The session was attended by Directors of Physical Education from educational boards, representatives of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, and former Olympians including Hassan Sardar, Islahuddin, and Khwaja Junaid.
During the meeting, the Federal Secretary IPC presented the IBCC–PHF School and Inter-Board Hockey Revival Program (2026–2029), a strategic roadmap aimed at rebuilding Pakistan’s hockey talent pipeline through schools and educational boards.
The initiative focuses on expanding school-level hockey, organizing inter-board competitions, and creating a structured pathway for young players to progress to national representation.
Participants welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to collaboratively revive Pakistan’s national sport through the education sector. A joint Steering Committee, including former Olympians, will oversee the implementation of the roadmap.
