ISLAMABAD, June 27 (APP): Commerce Minister, Khurram Dastgir
Khan said Monday that roadmap of human rights would be prepared
very soon with the support of provincial governments.

During a meeting with Minister Human Rights, Kamran
Michael, the Commerce Ministe said that all the human
rights’ principles highlighted in the constitution of Pakistan would be implemented with the coordination of provincial governments.

The Minister said that European Union was satisfied with the
pace of improvements Pakistan has been making in the development of human rights laws in the country, adding that Pakistan was in contact with EU regarding its responsibilities regarding GSP plus business incentives.

The minister said that implementation of human rights was
not any external agenda rather the government was striving to
implement the human rights given in the constitution
of Pakistan, according to statement issued by Commerce
Ministry here.

He lauded the efforts of Kamran Michael for playing its due
role in fulfilling country’s GSP plus responsibilities. He said the government has established Human Rights Ministry which is
directly in contact with provincial governments and providing assistance to help them improved the human rights laws.

The minister said that the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry
of Human Rights would also launch awareness and technical programmes to improve technical abilities of provincial officers.

On the occasion, Karmran Michael informed the minister
that Secretary Human Rights and other officers of the ministry would visit all the provinces and sensitize the officers and staff of provincial departments regarding the implementation of human rights.
