ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP): The federal government has allocated Rs23 million for ongoing development projects of the Human Rights Division under the Revised Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26.
According to official budget documents on Friday, the allocation has been earmarked for initiatives aimed at strengthening human rights promotion, monitoring mechanisms, and institutional capacity.
The funded projects include the establishment of a Project Planning and Monitoring Unit at the Ministry of Human Rights, a Human Rights Awareness Programme, and the Human Rights Coordination and Monitoring Unit under the National Reporting and Follow-up Framework.
The government said these initiatives are intended to enhance the protection of human rights, improve public awareness, and strengthen Pakistan’s capacity to monitor and implement its national and international human rights commitments.
Officials noted that the allocation reflects the government’s continued commitment to promoting and safeguarding human rights through institutional reforms and improved governance mechanisms.
