HR ministry looking for public private partnership for building women shelter homes

ISLAMABAD, March 14 (APP):Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) is looking for public private partnership for building shelter homes for women, a ministry official Thursday said.
Talking to APP, she said there were currently 50 beds in the shelter home for domestic violence survivors women which were insufficient.
She said it societal responsibility to promote women rights and change the discriminatory mindset toward women adding for this purpose human rights ministry was conducting trainings to sensitize people to safeguard human rights especially women ones.
The incumbent government was determined to ensure the women rights, she added.
She said women post shelter life was very difficult due to various threats, prejudiced mindset and loss of support from family members. There was dire need to change the mindset regarding vulnerable stigma of the society.
She informed that the ministry’s shelter home in the federal capital was providing medical aid, education and temporary accommodation.
