Hot, dry weather to persist across most parts of country on Tuesday; rain likely in upper regions

ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP):Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and dry weather for most parts of the country on Tuesday.
While isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and northeastern Punjab, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The Met Office said Islamabad and adjoining areas are expected to remain hot, with partly cloudy conditions likely during the afternoon.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hot and dry weather is forecast for most districts, while partly cloudy conditions with isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad and Parachinar.
Punjab is also likely to experience mainly hot and dry weather. However, isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms may occur in Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Khanewal.
Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain predominantly hot and dry, while partly cloudy weather accompanied by isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms is forecast for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the last 24 hours, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while hot and dry conditions prevailed elsewhere in the country.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Malam Jabba (55 mm), followed by Khanewal (30 mm), Narowal (27 mm), Lahore Airport (22 mm), Dera Ghazi Khan (21 mm), Kot Addu (16 mm) and Islamabad’s Golra area (13 mm).
The highest maximum temperature recorded in the country on Monday was 45 degrees Celsius in Sibbi, followed by 43 degrees Celsius in Dalbandin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Nokkundi and Dadu.
