ISLAMABAD, Jan 19 (APP):High Commissioner of Pakistan to Canada, Tariq Azim Khan, while speaking at the annual event “Building Bridges” organized by the Muslim Society of Guelph said that in our interaction with people of other religions, we should demonstrate true teachings of Islam which are peace and tolerance.
According to a press release received here Friday from Canada, he highlighted the importance of unity within the Muslim Community in order to reflect true spirit of Islam and glorious traditions laid down by the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said that we must have understandings of other religions and their cultural practices in order to have religious harmony in this multi-cultural society. He said that while following our own teachings of Islam, we must have mutual tolerance for assimilation.
He appreciated the Muslim Society of Guelph for bringing together an event which is building bridges among people from all faiths. He said that such events provide an opportunity for different communities to share information about their religions and cultural values in order to achieve an all-inclusive and pluralist community.
