ISLAMABAD, Jul 16 (APP):The National Heritage and Culture Division (NHCD) has commenced disbursing funds under the Federal Government Artists Welfare Fund (FGAWF) for the fiscal year 2024–25, bringing timely financial relief to deserving artists across Pakistan.
As per official sources, the distribution process is being carried out in phases, with substantial amounts already disbursed or in the final stages of release.
In the first phase, cheques ranging from Rs. 800,000 to Rs. 130,000 were issued to 60 artists, amounting to a total disbursement of Rs. 16.52 million. These cheques were processed and issued by June 30, 2025.
The second phase is now underway, with cheques for 140 additional artists, each set to receive between Rs. 100,000 and Rs. 75,000,already signed and scheduled to be forwarded to the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR).
This phase will see the release of Rs. 12.33 million and is expected to be processed within the next two days.
This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to recognizing and uplifting the country’s artistic talent, ensuring that those who preserve and promote Pakistan’s cultural legacy receive due support.
