The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced its Research Awards for the year 2026-27 and invited applications from Pakistani researchers and scholars across the country.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP):The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced its Research Awards for the year 2026-27 and invited applications from Pakistani researchers and scholars across the country.
According to the announcement shared by HEC, the objective of these awards is to recognize excellence in research, acknowledge contributions to intellectual development, and promote high-impact publications.
The awards will be given in three categories including Best Researcher, Best Young Researcher and Best Publication.
Under the general eligibility criteria, the applicant must never have been blacklisted by HEC.
The applicant or publication must not have received the same award earlier and none of the publications on the applicant or authors’ credit should be plagiarized as per HEC plagiarism policy.
For the Best Publication category, the publication must be a scholarly book or journal article, must not have been published more than three years before January 1, 2026, and must have been authored by no more than three authors. All authors must have been residents of Pakistan for at least three years as of January 1, 2026.
For the Best Publication category, the publication must be a scholarly book or journal article, must not be more than three years old before January 01, 2026, and must be written by no more than three authors.All authors must be residents of Pakistan for at least three years on January 01, 2026.
Additionally, the research article must be published in a HEC recognized W-category journal and must have a minimum citation count of 100, while the book must be published by a recognized or renowned academic press.
HEC has informed that application forms must be submitted via its online portal at https://research.hec.gov.pk and incomplete or late applications will not be entertained.The deadline for submission is Saturday, October 31, 2026.
