ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (APP):The District & Sessions Court of Islamabad court on Thursday recorded witness statements in two controversial tweet cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Azam Swati and postponed further proceedings until October 27.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka conducted the hearing of the two cases filed against Senator Azam Swati over his alleged controversial tweets. During the proceedings, the prosecution recorded witness statements in both cases.
According to court details, two witnesses each testified in the two separate cases. The defense counsel cross-examined one of the witnesses during the session. The prosecution had earlier submitted lists of six witnesses in each case but later dropped four from both lists.
The judge directed the defense lawyers to complete the cross-examination of the remaining witnesses at the next hearing. The court then adjourned further proceedings till October 27.
The cases were registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against Senator Swati under charges related to his social media posts.
