RAWALPINDI, Jun 09 (APP):District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has intensified its crackdown against quackery and the illegal sale of syringes.  A coordinated “one team” approach will be implemented to strengthen enforcement against unlawful medical practices.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting held at the DHA office in line with directives of the Punjab Chief Minister and the Health and Population Welfare Department. The meeting was chaired by Tahira Aurangzeb, MNA who stressed that public health protection remained the government’s top priority and said that no compromise would be made on illegal medical practices.
She observed that strict and transparent enforcement was essential to safeguard citizens, adding that relevant departments must ensure effective field coordination to eliminate quackery from the district.
CEO Health Dr Ehsan Ghani said that action against illegal practitioners was being intensified across Rawalpindi and said that detailed data of ongoing enforcement operations had been presented before the participants.
He pointed out that DDHOs and drug inspectors were conducting regular anti-quackery visits and surprise inspections, while adding that these operations were being jointly monitored by DQCB, DHO (PS) and drug control teams.
Participants stressed that all field units must strengthen coordination and said that violators would be dealt with under relevant laws without exception.
They observed that the initiative aimed to protect public health and ensure strict implementation of regulations across the district, while reaffirming commitment to sustained enforcement action.
