Headmistress Maria Zahid honoured for outstanding academic performance at 80th Independence Day ceremony

RAWALPINDI, Aug 14 (APP): Headmistress Maria Zahid of Government Girls High School, Misrial Road, was honoured with a certificate of appreciation by the District Education Authority (DEA) Rawalpindi at a ceremony marking Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day, in recognition of her leadership and the school’s outstanding matriculation results, including a 100 percent pass rate in the science group.

The Independence Day ceremony was held at Government Shimla High School, Satellite Town, where headteachers, teachers and representatives of schools from across Rawalpindi district gathered to celebrate the national occasion and recognise outstanding academic performance.

According to the results, Iman Altaf secured first position in the school with 1,130 marks, followed by Sonia Imran with 1,088 marks, while Arisha Rehman stood third with 1,063 marks.

The school also recorded an impressive overall performance, with 12 students securing A+ grades and 18 obtaining A grades, while the science group achieved a 100 percent pass rate.

Congratulating the students, teachers and parents, Maria Zahid attributed the achievement to the blessings of Allah Almighty, the hard work of the students, cooperation of parents and sincere efforts of the teaching staff.

We are grateful to Allah Almighty, Who blessed our collective efforts with success, she said, extending heartfelt congratulations to the students, their parents and teachers.

Maria Zahid said receiving the recognition on the historic occasion of Independence Day was a source of encouragement for the entire school and reflected the collective efforts of its students, teachers and parents.

Parents also expressed pride over the school’s performance. Uzma, mother of one of the successful students, told APP that achieving a 100 percent result at a government school reflected the hard work of the headmistress and dedicated efforts of the teachers.

I am very happy that my daughter has passed her matriculation examination with good marks, she said.

Another parent, Tehseen, became emotional while appreciating the headmistress and teachers. With tears of joy in her eyes, she said parents were delighted with their children’s good marks and credited the school administration and teachers for their dedicated guidance and support.

Maria Zahid expressed the resolve that through collective efforts, the institution would strive to further improve its academic results in the coming years while continuing to focus on the broader objectives of education, particularly character-building of students.
