Hazara University students visit Senate Secretariat

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP):A delegation of students and faculty members of Hazara University, Mansehra, visited the Senate Secretariat at Parliament House on Friday as part of a study tour.
Senior officials of the Senate Secretariat welcomed the delegation and arranged a visit to the Senate Museum.
The participants were given a detailed briefing on Pakistan’s parliamentary history, the evolution of the Senate, the legislative process and the constitutional role of the Upper House.
They were also shown a documentary highlighting the history of the Senate.
The delegation later visited Constitution Avenue, where the participants were briefed on Pakistan’s constitutional and political history.
The delegation also attended the proceedings of the Senate session.
The participants were given a detailed briefing on the functions of the Senate Secretariat, the conduct of parliamentary affairs, the role of standing committees and the proceedings of Senate sessions.
They were also briefed on the different stages of the legislative process and the constitutional and democratic role of the Upper House.
The participants termed the briefing highly informative and asked questions on various matters. They were provided satisfactory answers to their queries.
At the end of the visit, the delegation described the tour of Parliament House as a memorable and informative experience.
The participants thanked the Senate Secretariat for making excellent arrangements and providing a comprehensive briefing.
