ISLAMABAD, Apr 11 (APP):Khawaja Harris, counsel for former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Wednesday concluded cross-examination of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia in the Avenfield property reference.
Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir resumed hearing of the reference filed by the National Accountability Court (NAB).
On tenth day of cross-examination, Khawaja Harris questioned Wajid Zia about other members of JIT and raised various objections.
The prosecution witness, Wajid Zia, replied that no objection was raised against any JIT member during the proceedings in the Supreme Court.
NAB prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi objected that Harris was asking irrelevant questions.
Later after a short break, Amjad Pervez, counsel for Maryam Nawaz, began cross-examination of Wajid Zia.
To a query, Zia stated that the JIT was supported by around 40 experts during Panama Papers investigation, whose role was not specified in the reports. The apex court was requested not to mention the names of supporting staff, he added.
To another query, the JIT head said the report was prepared with the consensus of all team members.
The court adjourned hearing of the case till April 12, wherein Amjad Perviaz would continue cross examining Wajid Zia.
Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar attended the court proceedings.
