MULTAN, Feb 13 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan on Saturday urged non-tax filers to avail an opportunity under the tax amnesty scheme which would surely benefit them. Addressing a seminar arranged jointly by traders and the FBR here, he said nearly one million people out of 180 million in the country were paying taxes which was very low. He added that 4.5 percent people in India used to pay taxes and if Pakistanis paid at the same percentage, then there would be nine million tax payers in our country.
