Hajj 2026: Haram Guides assist over 10,000 pilgrims; 1,345 aided in last 24 hours

MAKKAH MUKARRAMAH, May 09 (APP):The ‘Haram Guides’ of the Pakistan Hajj Mission are working around the clock to provide assistance and guidance to Pakistani pilgrims in Makkah. Despite the scorching heat and challenging weather conditions, these trained officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs are stationed around Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi to reunite lost elderly pilgrims with their groups and provide immediate information in Urdu and regional languages.
According to the Pakistan Hajj Mission, a total of 10,238 pilgrims have received direct guidance in Makkah so far. In the last 24 hours alone, the dedicated field staff assisted 1,345 pilgrims at crowded locations and transport hubs, directing them toward their respective destinations.
Haram Guides operating in the field stated that they provide essential information regarding various entry gates, Tawaf areas, and bus points. “If a pilgrim gets separated or needs guidance regarding prohibited items and baggage storage, we are available on-site to help,” explained one welfare assistant (Khadim-ul-Hujjaj). Highlighting a spirit of universal brotherhood, another guide remarked, “Our services are not limited to Pakistanis; whether a pilgrim comes from India, Bangladesh, or any other country, we guide them as brothers in faith.”
Nasir Aziz Khan, Coordinator (F&C) of the Pakistan Hajj Mission, emphasized that the top priority is providing maximum facilities to the pilgrims. “Whether a pilgrim loses their way or requires administrative information within the Haram, our trained guides are available at every moment to serve them,” he stated. He further added that the guides underwent specialized training this year to ensure they serve as effective facilitators in an unfamiliar environment.
Hajj pilgrims have highly praised the Government of Pakistan’s initiative, noting that receiving timely guidance in their own language has made their sacred journey significantly easier and more peaceful in a foreign land.
