SIALKOT, Feb 18 (APP)::Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday said the government was
utilizing all available resources to improve means of communications evenly in
urban and rural areas of the country.
Addressing the laptop distribution ceremony at Government College for
Women University, he said the basic concept for improving means of
communications, was to bring far-off and neglected areas at par with the
developed parts of the country.
The Foreign Minister said the mega project of China Pakistan Economic
Corridor (CPEC) would play an instrumental role in bringing revolutionary
change and usher in economic stability and prosperity, not only in the country
but also in the whole region.
He was confident that Gwadar port would emerge as a busiest port and
play a dominating role in ensuring drastic economic stability and overall
development of the country as well as in the region.
Gwadar port and CPEC projects would open new vista of prosperity and
development and enlarge the scope of employment opportunities for the people
of the country, he added.
Asif said the economic stability had become more vital at this juncture for
making the country economically stable, bringing prosperity and to boost
development process in the country.
Asif said banishing of backwardness and elimination of poverty were on
the top of government agenda and many steps had already been taken in this
direction.
The linking of remote areas with developed areas would eventually bring
about revolutionary changes in lifestyle and usher in a new era of development
and prosperity, he added.
He said under the programme 1,800 KM long roads had been constructed in
Baluchistan for improving and linking downtrodden areas with the developed parts
of the province.
The foreign minister said “Pakistan is making hectic efforts to maintain peace
in the region but our neighboring country has been creating obstacles in the peace
process and is indulged in patronizing terrorists.”
He said India was in fever of war phobia and continuously violating on LOC
and Working Boundary, besides killing the innocent civilians. Pakistan has rendered
great scarifies in war against terrorism and efforts were still underway to purge the
menace, he added.
The minister made it clear that any attempt to impose war or misadventure by India
would be crushed with iron hand adding the world should acknowledge and recognize the
scarifies of Pakistan, rendered in the war against terrorism.
