ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP):The Annual Sports Week 2025 was inaugurated with a colorful and vibrant opening ceremony held at the Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB), I-8/3 on Monday.
The event formally marked the commencement of the annual sports gala, showcasing the spirit of enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.
Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director, Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), Islamabad, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Ms Nilofer, Director IBCC; Prof. Ehsan-ul-Haq, Principal IMCB F-10/3; Prof. Najeeb Ullah, Principal IMCB G-11/1; Deputy Director Sports FDE; Deputy Director Training FDE; along with several other eminent dignitaries.
A traditional torch rally was also conducted, featuring athletes, top-performing students, and faculty members representing various houses.
The rally was supervised by Dr Ismatullah. An energetic aerobics and gymnastics display was presented by junior students under the supervision of Ms. Rabia Najaf, which captivated the audience and earned widespread appreciation.
The ceremony featured an impressive house parade, torch rally, aerobic and gymnastic performances, and melodious game songs, all of which were highly appreciated by the guests of honor.
Prof Shahid Mehmood Abbasi, Principal of the college, addressed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to the honorable guests for their presence and continued support.
In his address, Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah encouraged students to participate in sports activities with zeal and zest, emphasizing the importance of sports in promoting self-confidence, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
He also announced cash prizes for the winning teams, further boosting the morale of the participants.
A wide range of sports events on the grounds and tracks will be conducted throughout the Sports Week, making the annual sports gala a true celebration of healthy competition and youthful energy.
