Govt to ensure quality health cover to poor segment: Kiani

ISLAMABAD, Feb 22 (APP):Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Aamer Mehmood Kiani Friday said that the government had fulfilled its promise of ensuring standard healthcare services for poor people in rural areas with launch of Sehat Insaf card scheme in Rajanpur.In a statement, the minister said that 213,000 families in Rajanpur would get free medical treatment from this Sehat Insaf Card scheme.

He said that 800,000 people of Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Muzaffargarh districts would be provided health cards by the end of next month.
He said that at least 7.2 million residents of the 36 districts of Punjab would also get health cards by the end of 2019.
He said that the Prime Minster Imran Khan has already launched the Sehat Insaf Card in Islamabad. He added under the Sehat Insaf Card scheme, free healthcare worth Rs720,000 will be provided to each deserving family.
He said that the health card scheme will address the medial problems of people living below povertyline. He added the government is committed to provide health facilities to poor segments of the society by issuing health cards.
