ISLAMABAD, Dec 21 (APP):Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar Friday said the provincial government had established water authority to provide clean drinking water to the masses.

The last Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government had launched redundant water schemes and filtration plants costing billions of rupees in the province, but they all were now closed, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was taking steps to provide clean drinking water to the province. No effective policy was made during 70 years in providing fresh water to the people, he added.
He said Non-Governmental Organizations were also working on drinking water in Punjab and their projects would be completed in 2019.
Punjab Governor assured the PTI government was committed to save the country’s wealth by adopting austerity measures. All the government representatives were working on party manifesto for development and prosperity in the country and Punjab.
He said the PTI government was devising long term policies to bring political and economic stability in the country.
He said Governor, Chief Minister and Speaker were the key post for the province and they all were on the same page in Punjab.
Chaudhry Sarwar said, “I have no role in recent transfers and postings of the officials in the Punjab. I feel proud that I have contributed for the country and masses.”
He said that he was resolving the issues of common man and universities on daily basis.
Commenting on CM Punjab Usman Buzdar, he said Usman was an honest and simple man who was holding meetings with him and others to get suggestions regarding the matters.
To a query, he said due to ineffective local bodies system of the country, power had not been transferred at grassroots level.
