Govt takes practical steps for farmers: Ranjha

SARGODHA, June 6 (APP): Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha said that government has taken practical steps to provide relief to the farmers.

Addressing an inaugural ceremony of Dhooda Minor Canal Tehsil Kotmomin constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 54 million on Monday, he said the progress of agricultural sector was indispensable for the progress of a country adding that the prosperity of farmers was also attached with the prosperity of country.

Ranjha said that the government would give a subsidy of Rs.400 on each bag of Urea whereas Rs 300 on DAP adding that fertilizer manufacturers would also give a discount of Rs 50 on per bag to the farmers.

He said that under Kissan Package the PML-N government had allocated billion of rupees whereas the prices of electricity for tube-wells have also been reduced.

He further said that the construction of Dhooda Minor canal farmers of 8 villages including Jallah Makhdoom, Ahmad Wala, Kot Fateh Khan, Bheki Kalan, Bheki Khurd, Dhooda, Kraria and Wasuwala would get benefit.
