KARACHI, Dec 23 (APP): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that his government is striving to improve law and order situation in the province so that people could lead safe and secure life.

This he said while presiding over cabinet meeting at the Chief Minister House on Wednesday, said a handout issued here.

The issues came under discussion in the cabinet, included law and order, development schemes and the arrangements for the death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to be observed at Garhi Khuda Bux on December 27.

Inspector General of Police Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali and Home Secretary Mohammad Waseem briefed the cabinet about law and order sitaution and the security plan for 12th Rabi-ul-Awal.

“We have worked out contigency plan for 12th Rabi-ul-Awal. Over 60,000 police force and more than 3000 police mobiles would provde security to the 12th Rabi-ul-Awal rallies,” he said.

The IG said that he had already held a number of coordination meetings with Ulema and other concerned people. “We have also made arrangements to deploy policemen in plain clothes,” he said.

Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Aijaz Ali Khan said that the government has released Rs 10 billion for 185 ongoing development schemes.

Apart from it, Rs 4.6 billion have also been released for 392 schemes which are likely to be completed by June 2016.

The chief minister told the cabinet that all the party workers would attend the death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux on December 27.

“The arrangements for food and accommodation for the workers of PPP have been made at the mazar,” he said and added that he had personally held a number of Mazar Committee meetings to review the arrangements.

The meeting was attended by provincial ministers, Nisar Khuhro, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Nasir Shah, Jam Khan Shoro, Gianchand, Mukesh Kumar Chawala, Jam Khan Shoro, Mola Bux Chandio, Additional Chief Secretary Aijaz Ali Khan, IG Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali, Home Secretary Mohammad Waseem and others.
