Govt pursuing revolutionary economic agenda: Mujtaba

LAHORE, Nov 23 (APP): Provincial Excise & Taxation Minister Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman Monday said the incumbent government was pursuing a revolutionary economic agenda to enlist Pakistan in the comity of developed nations.
Talking to this news agency at his Cooperative Road residence, he said, all available resources were being utilized to put the country’s economy back of track.
He said, meaningful discourse had already been initiated with the private sector to boost foreign direct investment in the country. “We are offering ideal incentives to foreign investors and as a result of Chief Minister Punjab’s untiring efforts a sizeable number of international companies were pouring into Pakistan and developing projects in various sectors especially power, communications and petroleum ones,”
he added.He said, the key load-shedding issue was being addressed
on priority basis. He said, under progress power projects would start generation by 2017.
He said, measures were being taken to enhance employment
opportunities, reduce unemployment and poverty.
“Once the country’s economy is put on the trajectory of growth and it
would have a consequential impact on inflation,” he said.
Rehman advised those political elements making undue
criticism on government policies should lend their support
to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to enable him to
put Pakistan back to the rails.
The Minister said, people had reposed fullest confidence
in the leadership of PML-N leadership in the two phases of
local bodies elections. It, he said, was because of mega
development projects, the government erected during last two
and a half years. He said, PML-N leadership believed in service
to masses and spending every penny of public money to build
more peoples’ welfare projects.
He expressed the hope that the party would make another
clean sweep in the third phase of local government polls
scheduled for December 5.
