ISLAMABAD, Jun 19 (APP):Federal Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh on Thursday said that the government had presented a well-balanced and people-friendly budget.
Talking to PTV news outside Parliament, the minister said that efforts were made to provide relief to the common man despite limited fiscal space.
He said that relief was given with increases in BISP allocations, development schemes, and incentives for SMEs, industries, traders, and farmers.
He added that salaries were increased and taxes on salaries were reduced, marking a positive step for the working class.
“We are presenting this budget in consultation with allied partners,” he added.
In the same programme, PML-N Senator Noshra Anjum Butt said that the government was open to constructive suggestions, noting that proposals such as tax adjustments on solar panels had been acknowledged.
MNAs Malik Abrar Ahmed, Shakir Bashir Awan, and Asiya Naz Tanoli of the PML-N congratulated the Prime Minister and the economic team for presenting a balanced budget and said that many public and political proposals are under review.
They reiterated that the Finance Ministry and committees were actively evaluating budget suggestions, and any feasible proposal would be seriously considered.
