HAZRO, Jun 18 (APP):Member of the Judicial Commission and National Assembly,  Sheikh Aftab Ahmad Thursday said that the federal government’s budge budget was balanced given the current economic challenges, but called for additional relief measures for farmers, laborers, students and salaried employees.
Speaking to local community representatives here, Ahmad described the reported U.S.-Iran ceasefire as a major diplomatic achievement for Pakistan, crediting Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their roles.
He said the federal government had provided tax relief to several sectors despite difficult economic conditions and mounting global financial pressures linked to international conflicts.
“Presenting a balanced budget in a developing country like Pakistan under such circumstances is a significant achievement,” the lawmaker said.
He also stressed the importance of supporting the agricultural sector, describing farmers as the backbone of the national economy. He called for broader agricultural reforms and easier access to facilities and services for the growers.
Ahmad said the decision not to impose additional taxes on several sectors and to grant tax concessions would provide relief to workers and middle-income groups.
Describing the federal budget as balanced under challenging circumstances, he expressed confidence that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, would continue efforts to improve economic conditions and expand public welfare initiatives.
