ISLAMABAD, May 31 (APP): Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal Tuesday hoped that the government and opposition would soon formualte Terms of Reference (ToRs) for judicial commission to probe Panama Papers with consensus.
He said the constitution of offshore companies was not illegal as per international laws. However, the name of the Prime Minister was not mentioned in the Panama reports, but he had presented himself and his family for accountability, he said while talking to a news channel.
He said on the other hand, those whose names were mentioned in the Panama Papers were trying to escape from accountability.
The minister said, “We are all against the menace of corruption and want to remove it from the society. There is eed to make legislation in this regard.”
He said the federal government was trying to remove reservations of the provinces regarding funds despite limited resources in the upcoming fiscal budget.
The minister said, the development projects launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) were also discussed in detail with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak during his visit in Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms.
Replying to a question, he said the incumbent government had launched number of developing projects in all provinces without any discrimination.
Recession in agriculture sector was a global phenomenon in these days, he mentioned.
